General Chiropractic Questions

Who should visit a chiropractor?

Anyone who is experiencing pain in their back, neck, jaw, shoulders, ribs, knees, ankles, arms or hands as well as individuals with headaches, dizziness and/or balance problems.

or

Anyone who hasn’t been to a chiropractor on a periodic basis to have their joints, muscles and nerves functioning at optimal levels.

What do chiropractors do?

After careful diagnosis and analysis, chiropractors use several gentle techniques to relieve pain and restore normal function; often, patients feel better shortly after their treatments.  In addition to adjustments, various therapies may be used to reduce inflammation and reduce pain.  These therapies may include Cold Laser treatments, TENS therapy, massage therapy, and various physical therapies.  Most patient copays cover the total cost of adjustments and therapies.

How much time will I spend at the Chiropractic office?

The initial visit includes a significant conversation about your health and movement and several tests to determine which approach will work best. Then, if warranted, digital x-rays may be taken on-site. That visit will likely last between 45-60 minutes. Subsequent visits usually average 15-30 minutes.

What should I bring to the office on my first visit?

You must have a valid Photo Id.  If you will be using health insurance, your insurance card or insurance information including the member id will be needed.

Upon arrival, you will be asked to fill out a new patient information form which will ask about how you are feeling, a brief medical history , HIPPA disclosure form, financial responsibility disclosure and a treatment consent form.  This form can be downloaded and filled out in advance by clicking here.  You may also want to review our About US and testimonial pages as well.

Will I be asked to sign a contract for a specific number of visits?

Absolutely not!  We do not believe in extended contracts.  Appointments are based on your need and how you are feeling.  We typically see new patients 2-3 times a week for a week or two until they are feeling better and we are confident adjustments are holding.

Optilife does recommend maintenance adjustments once a month to prevent problems from arising.  Pain is often one of the last symptoms of a problem affecting your health.  We do offer care plans for families to help reduce the cost of family treatments.

Do you take walk-ins?

Yes for existing patients.  Because new patients take more time, we would prefer that you schedule an appointment.  However, we can usually accomodate new patients the same day if you call before noon.  Give us a call 813 926-9500.  We are here to help!
